The software simulates 10,000 energy profiles (projects future interval data) based on the industry sector, energy utilization period, mode, and power requirements. This provides a solution that is tailored towards specific energy consumption and goals.

Developed to give the user an easy, fast, and reliable tool to size a Battery Energy Storage System with Solar to determine an optimal size for energy savings and or back-up needs. The solution accounts for the refueling of the batteries from the sun, while continuously delivering the selected power production requirements based on panel orientation and location.

How To Use

Step One

Create a Project. Set up system parameters by providing site address, module type, array type, tilt, azimuth. Optional – Cost per watt for PV installation and cost per kWh for BESS installation.

Step Two

Determine the days and daily hours most of the energy is being consumed. This is preset to 7 days per week and 16 hours per day. The time-period selection, annual kWh usage, and sector selected calculate average and peak demand.

Step Three

Select mode (the way the system operates):

  • Select mode (the way the system operates): • Parallel is when the BESS is interconnected to the service for energy savings only
  • Back-up is when the BESS is interconnected to the service for both energy savings and back-up needs
  • Off-Grid is when the BESS is a stand-alone system independent from the grid supporting the loads

Production Demand is the amount of power (kW) you need the system size to deliver on a continuous basis to meet the objective(s). The objectives are demand reduction (kW) and % of energy offset. Production demand should target average kW based on usage.
